Previous Employment

• January 2000 to December 2001: Postdoc with David Haussler at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
• September 1999 to December 1999: Research Assistant at the center for Basic Research in Computer Science at the University of Aarhus.

Education

• March 2000: Successfully defended my dissertation; the evaluation committee consisted of Alberto Apostolico, Anders Krogh, and Erik Meineche Schmidt.
• August 1999: Submitted my Ph.D. dissertation Computational Biology to the Faculty of Science, University of Aarhus.
• February 1, 1998 to December 13, 1998: Visited Dr. Michael Zuker at the Institute for Biomedical Computing, Washington University, St. Louis.
• June 1997: Passed the Ph.D. qualifier exam based on my progress report Computational Aspects of Biological Sequences and Structures. Obtained M.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Department of Computer Science, University of Aarhus on June 10, 1997.
• August 1995: Enrolled for the Ph.D. program in computer science at the University of Aarhus in the field of computational biology with Ole Caprani as advisor.
• September 1991: Enrolled for the Master's program in computer science and mathematics at the University of Aarhus. September 1992 program extended with chemistry.
• October 1989 - July 1991: Drafted into the Danish army, served at Nørrejyske Artilleriregiment (now Dronningens Artilleriregiment). September 1990 promoted to sergeant following eight months of training at Hærens Artilleriskole. July 1991 employed as regular (non-drafted) sergeant.
• June 1989: Graduated from Skanderborg Amtsgymnasium. Obtained General Certificate of Education A-level.
